2019 Triathlon Completed!

Please enjoy the new video with highlights from my latest challenge.

Many thanks for the kind sponsors, my original target of £60,000 has been smashed and the money keeps coming!

I am now in a position to start the process of ordering my vehicle and working with the converters on the finer details of what will be required – more information to follow on this in the coming months.

Once again, many thanks.

INFORMATION

Jenson Ball of Salisbury, UK was born in April 2003 with no arms.

Despite this, Jenson has an understandably strong desire to overcome and lead as normal a life as possible, as can be seen in the video below.

This website is intended to be used as an information site which we will be keeping updated with videos and pictures of Jenson as he does sponsored events and other activities.

WE WOULD JUST LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR FANTASTIC SUPPORT!!

2017 Aquathon Challenge

At 6.30am on Wednesday 30th August 2017, Jenson started his second sponsored event: The Aquathon Challenge!

What is an Aquathon?

“The sport of Aquathon consists of a continuous, two-stage race involving swimming followed by running.”

What did Jenson’s Aquathon Challenge consist of?

For Jenson, the challenge was a tough one: a 1 mile swim in open water followed immediately by a 3.0 mile cross country run – no mere ask!

Oh yes – and just to add to the challenge, Jenson decided that he would attempt to beat his own intensive football juggling “keepie-up” record before entering the water- a target of 400 touches of the ball in 3 minutes (yes, that’s over 2 per second!)

So all in all, a pretty steep challenge for anyone – then try doing it without arms!

So, how did Jenson do?

In short… phenomenally well!

Jenson managed to smash his keepie-up record, achieving an incredible 400 keepie-ups in just 2 minutes 3 seconds. For those of you who love stats, that’s an average of 3.25 touches of the ball… every second!!

Having smashed his first challenge, Jenson then went on to complete his 1 mile open water swim in just over 55 minutes, before climbing out of the lake and completing a 3 mile cross country run in just under 30 minutes!

As you will agree, that’s pretty breathtaking stuff – but why’s this necessary?

Well, as Jenson is getting older, he has decided he would like to pursue the journey towards getting prosthetic limbs. As this is highly likely to be abroad, it does bring with it significant costs.

Whilst this journey won’t happen overnight and there’s a lot to be worked out, Jenson has bravely taken the first step towards his dream – and every ounce of support he receives means the world to him!

Jenson’s Swim 2015

This was Jenson’s first sponsored event to help raise money for his current and future needs.

On August 15th, 2015 at midday, Jenson dived into the pool to swim 1 mile (which is 80.5 lengths or 41 double lengths, as shown on the blackboard in the video below), a very challenging target!

After just 50 lengths, Jenson got cramp in his right foot. Despite the pain from the cramp, he went on to complete the full 80.5 lengths of the swimming pool unaided, often just kicking with his left leg due to the pain in his right.

After 1 hour and 18 minutes, Jenson completed the full mile.

We have all been blown away by everyone’s support and would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated towards this event.
